Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing
- Current unencumbered NC license as a Registered Nurse OR compact nursing license valid for practicing and teaching in NC with a minimum of 4000 hours of experience as a registered nurse (2 years).
- Meets at least ONE of the following:
- completion of a course in teaching adults
- experience in teaching adults, or
- experience in supervising nurse aides
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Two years teaching Nursing Assistant classes
- Medication Aide Instructor
- American Heart Association BLS Instructor
- Community College teaching experience
- Experience in course development and online delivery
- Familiarity with a course management system such as Canvas

The Nurse Aide Faculty is a full-time, 9-month position primarily based at the Old Charlotte Highway (OCH) Campus in Monroe, NC, with teaching responsibilities that may occur on either the Monroe or Polkton campus, with a start date for Fall 2026. The interview process is expected to occur in May/June. To ensure consideration, please apply by May 15.
Under the direction of the Nurse Aide Program Director and the Executive Director of Nursing Education, the Nurse Aide Faculty provides direct instruction to Nurse Aide students, provides all state-regulatory required instruction in accordance with SPCC faculty policy, and maintains all compliance-related documentation as may be required. This position may teach classes on either the Monroe campus or Polkton campus.
