- A Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline
- Quality Matters certification or experience with Quality Matters principles, or proficiency in a similar online pedagogy framework focused on effective digital course design
- Ability to develop engaging, original content within the LMS, beyond third-party publisher materials
- Expertise in Canvas LMS, including course setup, content organization, assessments, analytics, and optimization for student engagement and success
- Proficiency in a wide range of instructional technologies for distance learning, including video conferencing, screencasting, and other digital tools that enhance online and hybrid education

DEFINITION:
To provide effective online instruction to students through Canvas LMS using multiple teaching strategies and perform accurate assessment of student learning objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and execute lessons, lectures, activities, and exercises for online settings in the Canvas LMS.
- Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance. Grade and record individual scores.
- Grade and return assignments and post grades in a prompt manner.
- Provide prompt and appropriate professional correspondence to students and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance. Maintain other records as required.
- Maintain Regular and Substantive faculty to student interactions.
- Abide by CFCC course standards.
- Maintain ADA compliance and digital accessibility standards.
Other Important Functions:
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Best practices and teaching techniques for online instruction
- Current trends, research, and development in the discipline and online teaching/learning environment
- Principles of test development and administration
- ADA compliance and digital accessibility
- Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) standards
- Quality Matters (QM) standards for online teaching/learning
Ability To:
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
- Making observations
- Reading and writing
- Communicating with others
- Operating assigned equipment
- Handling varied tasks simultaneously
