Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiently operate a computer and related software. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Skill in managing academic calendars. Skill in organizing, planning, and coordinating meetings and travel arrangements. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to identify, communicate and analyze problems. Ability to take ownership and utilize constructive feedback. Must be punctual, professional and conduct oneself in an ethical manner. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks. Ability to work respectfully within a team environment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skill and abilities. REQUIREMENTS: Education/Skills Required: Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution; Current NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners Cosmetology license; Current NC Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners Instructor License; Good communication skills. Preferred: Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Cosmetology. Bilingual. Experience Required: Five or more years of directly related work experience as a Licensed Cosmetologist. Preferred: Some teaching experience at the community college level. Position Description

The Cosmetology Instructor prepares for and teaches assigned courses; evaluates student progress and provides academic advising; maintains necessary records and performs other job-related duties. The position reports to the Dean of Business and Industry.
