Position Description
The Part-time Surgical Technology clinical faculty member is part of a dynamic team that is responsible for facilitating class and clinical components of courses within the Surgical Technology program. Clinical facilities are at locations throughout the piedmont triad area. The Part-time Surgical Technology clinical faculty member reports directly to the Program Director, Surgical Technology.

- Assist full time faculty in evaluation of student progress including maintenance and submission of instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy
- Provide administration, organization, and supervision of student clinical experience
- Ensure documentation and evaluation of progress of clinical performance leading to clinical competence
- Maintain high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
- Demonstrate flexibility, openness to change, and commitment to working in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the College
Your attributes:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Possess credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
- 1 year work experience as a surgical technologist
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in either an operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology
- Prior experience teaching or training
- Community College teaching experience
- Experience using a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, to deliver course content
