Part-Time Temporary Writing Center Tutor

Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of nine (9) semester hours of college-level English coursework with a grade of B or higher in English courses and an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher, required. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an English-related field is preferred. English tutoring and/ or teaching experience, preferred.

Supplemental Information
Official transcripts, including other documentation verifying all reported educational qualifications, are required. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for application purposes. The successful candidate must provide official transcripts at his or her expense within thirty (30) days of being notified of selection.

Description
Tutor students enrolled in classes from a variety of disciplines for a maximum of twenty-eight (28) hours per week. Answer student questions and assist with any aspect of the writing process in which students express need.

Tutoring hours: Will be assigned between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Salary: $15.00 per hour for college-level credit, Associates, or Bachelor’s degrees and $15.50 per hour for Master’s or Doctorate degrees.
