Minimum Qualifications

Education Required
  • Associate’s degree in aviation systems or related aviation technology from an institutionally accredited post-secondary institution
  • Supervisory experience to include conducting employee evaluations.
  • Experience managing under a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulated program. (145, 147, 141, 121 etc.)
 
Experience Required
  • Five years documented experience in the aviation industry
  • Post-secondary teaching and/or industry training experience in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional workshops, or other continuing education seminars.

Preferred Qualifications

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in aviation or related technical field from an institutionally accredited post-secondary institution
  • Non-Destructive Testing and Composite Repair Certification
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings

Experience Preferred

  • Greater than five years of documented aviation experience
  • Post-secondary teaching experience in Aviation Manufacturing or related profession
  • Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems

The Program Director will provide the vision and leadership required to support and enhance the mission of the Aviation Manufacturing Quick Careers program. Primary administrative responsibilities include program development/management, budget administration, providing supervision and mentoring to part time faculty and coordinating the preparation, approval and implementation of continuing education lesson plans and labs. Instructional responsibilities require a broad-based knowledge of the aviation industry and the ability to develop technical pathways that meet the needs of industry. The Program Director is a member of the full-time staff and reports to the Director of Aviation Programs. This is a teaching position with release time for administrative functions. The program director will be responsible for growth planning for the department working in conjunction with the Director of Aviation.
