Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid General Contractor’s License in the state of North Carolina.
  • Minimum [5] years of verifiable experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of state building codes, regulations, and construction management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience (formal or informal).

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle,Zoom)

Position Description

The General Contractor Exam Prep Instructor will deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction to prepare students for the General Contractor Licensing Examination. This role involves developing and delivering curriculum aligned with state licensing requirements, providing support and guidance to students, and evaluating their progress to ensure successful exam outcomes. The instructor will work closely with the Director of Workforce & Trades Education in matters related to and for the benefit of the specific program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver classroom and/or online instruction to prepare students for the General Contractor Licensing Exam in accordance with state regulations.
  • Develop lesson plans, presentations, practice tests, and course materials that align with the latest licensing requirements.
  • Provide instruction using various teaching methods.
  • Stay current on industry trends, changes in licensure requirements, and updates to exam content outlines.
  • Monitor and assess student performance, providing feedback and additional resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and submit required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Create a professional, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure program quality and student success.
