Position Description

DEFINITION:
To provide information technology support in simulated clinical activities. To maintain functional equipment in the simulation and lab areas.
***This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position. Position ends December 2026 with potential to be extended***
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Works independently with general supervision from the Nursing Simulation Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:- Assesses, troubleshoots and repairs equipment and/or technology equipment in a timely manner.
- Prepares, maintains and repairs computerized, high-fidelity manikins and associated software.
- Maintains efficient operation of the data system.
- Maintains multimedia peripherals and data collection during scenarios.
- Participates in orientation of faculty members to simulation.
- Provides training, support and consulting to faculty in the technical aspects of simulation.
- Stays abreast of new developments and changes in medical simulation; participate in staff development programs, workshops, seminars and other continuing education programs as appropriate.
- Participates in the implementation and revision of policies and procedures related to simulation.
- Assists with setup, takedown and moulage of simulations.
- Programs, tests and runs simulation scenarios for faculty assuring the facility, equipment, manikins and supplies are set up appropriately and that the desired outcome will be achieved.
- Understands campus networking and required systems that allow vendors, faculty, staff and students to access critical materials.
- Participate on college committees and in other institutional activities and programs.
Other Important Functions:
- Assist in the recruitment of students.
- Assist in assessing material, supply and equipment needed.
- Assist in maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Inventories and orders simulation supplies and equipment.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Secure and maintain maintenance agreements on equipment.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Technology, multimedia, audio/visual including networks, computer security, databases, servers, decoders, etc.
- Current trends, research and development in healthcare simulation.
- Principles and procedures of record keeping.
Ability To:
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing
- Analyze problems; identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
