- Financial Aid and customer service experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Position Description
Under general supervision, will serve as contact for students seeking financial aid assistance. Be responsible for maintaining and promoting scholarship opportunities to students, assisting students with FAFSA completion, assisting students with completion of verification process and processing of daily financial aid correspondence and other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties
- Establish and maintain the files and records of the Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs Office
- Prepare and monitor correspondence for financial aid and veteran students
- Provide clerical administrative support
- Scan documents submitted by students and important informational files within the department
- Respond to voicemails and emails received in the Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs mailboxes
- Assist students with FAFSA application and verification completion
- Certify NC grants and award Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)
- Prepare monthly payroll for Federal Work Study
- Verify enrollment status of students based on No Show Report
- Verify attendance of VA students twice a month
- Prepare financial aid informational presentations
- Assist students seeking additional financial aid opportunities
- Research, promote and share additional financial aid opportunities
- Assist in the identification of eligible recipients for scholarships other than those awarded by the Piedmont Community College Foundation
- Coordinate committees for scholarship approval, making awards according to scholarship guidelines, notifying students of scholarships and certifying scholarships
- Other duties as assigned
