Position Description

DEFINITION:
As a member of the Student Services team, the Student Recruiter is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a comprehensive campus visit program while expanding community outreach and engagement. The Student Recruiter manages individual and group campus tours, participates in community-based functions and events, and delivers presentations to promote the college across the service area. This role ensures that CFCC is well-represented in the community and provides outreach for all programs, including short-term training and degree programs. The Student Recruiter is responsible for providing information and guidance to prospective students regarding college programs, services, and enrollment information.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives general supervision from the Director of Student Onboarding and Recruitment.
- Leads the Student Ambassador Program, including hiring, training, and supervising student ambassadors.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct individual and group campus tours, both in-person and virtual, ensuring a high-quality visit experience.
- Meet with prospective students and families after campus tours to answer questions and provide guidance.
- Expand and maintain a strong community outreach presence by participating in various community-based functions, events, and presentations.
- Represent CFCC at community events and promotional functions to engage with prospective students and community members.
- Deliver presentations about college programs, services, and enrollment opportunities at large and small events, including information sessions, Career Discovery Nights, and One-Stop Enrollment events.
- Coordinate and participate in CACRAO college fairs and educational opportunity programs.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely and accurate manner by phone and electronically and assist prospective students who walk-in for service with CFCC opportunities, including enrollment steps, admissions, residency, and other student services and college resources.
- Create and maintain a robust communication plan for prospects and inquiries across multiple channels using the college’s customer relationship management software.
- Lead and manage the Student Ambassador Program, overseeing hiring, training, and coordination of student ambassadors who assist with tours and outreach.
- Maintain a database of recruitment and outreach efforts and track prospective student engagement.
- Organize and distribute college-wide recruitment materials and items.
- Work with the Community Relations Office to develop marketing materials and strategies for student recruitment.
- Ensure CFCC is consistently represented in the community, actively seeking opportunities to engage with local organizations and populations.
- Balance a busy campus tour calendar with external outreach commitments, demonstrating strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the promotion and coordination of activities and events sponsored by Student Services.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to student recruitment and engagement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college programs, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the enforcement of the Rights and Privacy Act.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of recruitment goal setting and monitoring of targeted student populations.
- Knowledge of student recruitment, inquiry management, and relationship-based marketing.
- Knowledge of human relations and personnel practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM’s, and student information systems (preferably Colleague).
- Knowledge of successful customer service practices.
- Knowledge of virtual outreach platforms.
Ability To:
- Perform related work as required.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully, both orally and in writing.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Some travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle if school vehicle is not available. Driving record must be free of any moving violations.
- Ability to travel between campuses on short notice.
