Job Duties 

Technology Support Duties

  • Provide first-line support for users by addressing hardware and software issues via telephone, email, and online work order tracking systems.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and relocate computers and peripherals to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Install, update, and resolve issues related to software to support users’ needs.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting hardware and software audits, and managing related documentation.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including submitting requisitions and tracking orders through completion. 
  • Support students, faculty, and staff through various communication channels by resolving technology-related issues with commonly used applications, software, hardware, and equipment on the RCC campus routing issues to appropriate Technology Support Services (TSS) staff as necessary.
  • Provide evening and weekend technical support as needed, demonstrating flexibility in work hours to meet the needs of the campus community.
  • Provide technical support for Facility Usage Requests including managing the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of IT and audiovisual systems during events, meetings, and training sessions. 

Workforce Development Duties

  • Provide technology support and maintenance for the Center for Workforce Development and other workforce development initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary technical support for Facility Usage Requests in the Center for Workforce Development, managing the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of IT and audiovisual systems during events, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of new devices and technologies associated with workforce development programs, including specialized equipment, software, and tools designed for workforce training and educational use.

Network Administration Duties

  • Serve as a backup to the Director of Network Security and Technology Support for network administration, assisting with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
  • Assist with server maintenance tasks, including updates, patch management, backups, and performance monitoring, to support end-user functionality and security.
  • Assist network administrator with networking upgrades to include setting up wireless devices, switches, and routers.
