Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with a studio art discipline OR a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in studio art.
- Teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- One academic year of full-time teaching experience or a part-time teaching equivalent at the college level
- Familiarity with a course management system such as Canvas
- Experience teaching web-enhanced, blended/hybrid, and online classes
- Experience with learning outcomes assessment
- Demonstrated innovation in teaching
- Graduate course experience in ceramics is highly desired, though not required.

The Visual Arts Faculty is a full-time, 9-month position located primarily on the Old Charlotte Highway (OCH) Campus in Monroe, NC with with a start date for Fall 2026. The interview process is expected to occur in May/June. To ensure consideration, please apply by May 15.
Under the direction of the Department Chair for Arts and Humanities, the Visual Arts Faculty provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in all curriculum and personal enrichment programs in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations. This individual has responsibility for teaching, learning, curriculum development, student learning assessment, advising, professional development, institutional service, and community relations. Courses to be taught may include Art Appreciation, Art History, Two-Dimensional Design, Three-Dimensional Design, Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Digital Art, Printmaking, Digital Photography, Portfolio and Resume, and other art studio courses, as needed. Course assignments will depend on faculty credentials and experience, as well as course demand.
