The fall semester after my graduation in 2011, I started attending Salem College as a Music Education major. I soon realized a career in music was not for me. In the 2013 spring semester, I dropped to attending college part time, and after that I dropped out altogether.

Yan Zhang has been living in the city of Kinston for five years now. In 2014, she enrolled at Lenoir Community College to learn English. Three years later, she decided to pursue an A.A.S. degree in Computer Engineering Technology.

After I graduated from high school, I began a career as an automotive technician. At first, I was satisfied with my career choice, and the fact that I never went to college. Over time, I realized that I did not want to repair and maintain vehicles for the rest of my life.
