Carmen Maye Lucas is a seasoned financial services leader with more than 20 years of experience helping individuals, businesses, and communities achieve financial success. She serves as a District Branch Network Senior Manager in Raleigh, where she leads and mentors Branch Managers in delivering exceptional customer service, financial guidance, and operational excellence.

Beginning her career with Wachovia Bank, Carmen has served in a variety of leadership roles over the past two decades, earning recognition for her ability to develop talent, inspire teams, and advance financial empowerment. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from North Carolina State University. In 2022, she was recognized as one of East Carolina University's 40 Under 40 and continues to support her alma mater as a member of the ECU Advancement Council.

Beyond her professional role, Carmen is deeply committed to community impact. She serves as President of the Triangle, Triad, and Eastern North Carolina Employee Impact Team, leading sustainability and community service initiatives, and serves on the boards of Junior Achievement and Koinonia Community Solutions, organizations dedicated to expanding educational and economic opportunities.

Through her leadership in financial services and community engagement, Carmen brings valuable experience in financial empowerment, leadership, and community impact to the SBCN Startup Showdown judging panel.
