North Carolina Community College Records Retention Schedule

The Program Records Retention and Disposition Schedules are issued by the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Archives and Records. This information is a tool that is used by state, local, university, and community college officials in managing the records in their offices.

 

A retention and disposition schedule for North Carolina community colleges was approved in July 2016. In December 2017, 12 amendments were made to this schedule; in May 2019, another 17 amendments were made to the schedule. In August 2019, a section was added for Public Safety Records for those campuses that have their own police force. The original 2016 schedule is still available; the 2017 version incorporates those amendments and adjusts cross-references and pagination accordingly; the 2019 version incorporates all amendments to date; the 2019 addition includes all amendments to date along with the new Public Safety section.
