I had desired to go back to school for years and it was my children, now two, four, and 10 years of age, who were my motivation to do so. I wanted to prove to them, and myself, that it is never too late to better yourself. Southeastern Community College was so close to home and affordable that I no longer had any excuses. I knew when I applied that I wanted to be a business major. My goal is to one day own and operate my own business. I would love to open a place where children of all ages can go to learn and have fun.

I am in my fifth semester at SCC and plan on graduating in May. I have been a member of the choir, Phi Beta Lambda, and Phi Theta Kappa, and have loved every minute of it. I know that when you put your mind to something that your heart is invested in, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish. Southeastern has helped me to follow my heart and reinforced the confidence I need to succeed.
