I began my COA career as a dual-enrolled high school student in Fall 2008. After graduation I came to COA full-time. After completing my Diploma in Medical Assisting, I decided to continue on for my AAS in Medical Assisting and was a double major, concurrently pursuing an AAS in Medical Office Administration. During this time, I became an active member of the Albemarle Area Medical Assistants, an organization that offers scholarships to MA students and donates to local charities. I have served as Newsletter Editor for this organization in 2012 and in 2014 am holding the office of Secretary.

I have truly learned a lot at COA and appreciate what this institution brings to the community. For the 2013-14 school year, I am serving as a student ambassador and am a parti-time employee of COA in the Continuing Education department. In addition to classes at COA, I am also taking online classes at East Carolina University toward a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Upon graduation from COA this spring, I will continue to pursue higher education and hope to continue serving this institution that has provided me so many opportunities.
