College of The Albemarle gave me so much, I don’t even know where to begin. I came all the way from Russia to realize my dream of studying in the USA. I am so fortunate that I chose to go to the College of The Albemarle first before going to a four-year school. I know that it will help me become more successful at a four-year school in the future. The reason that I have been successful is because of opportunities my college gave me.
Small classes allow me to meet tête-à-tête with instructors. That individual attention has helped me get feedback on my work and tips about what I should improve in my studies. I have also had the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. I started by participating in fundraisers with the International Club, Literary Club, and the SGA. After being involved with a couple events, I could not stop. Today, I am the President of the International and Literary Clubs, the President of the SGA, a student ambassador, and Vice-President of the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association. It is rewarding to have the opportunity to help others through my work.
