Anna Pierce
These past two years have been a huge transition for me. Throughout high school I planned to attend a university in Florida, where I had lived all my life. During my senior year my grandfather passed, leaving my grandmother alone in North Carolina. Despite the fears of leaving the only place I’d known, I decided to move in with her and go to college in NC.
Due to the cost of out-of-state tuition, I began looking into local community colleges and feel blessed to have found Johnston Community College. After touring campus, I knew it was the right place for me. The faculty I encountered made me feel welcome, and they were willing to help in any way they could. They also made me feel confident that I would be provided with a great education. I applied to the Radiography program and was thrilled when I was accepted.
I’m currently in my second year at JCC, and this college has been a large part of my experience here and helped me feel at home. I have met great new people through the Radiography program and also from serving as a Student Ambassador.
