Ashley Rabon
Fresh out of high school, I became a wife and a mother or two. My husband started his own business a year after we were married and I became a stay-at-home mom. After being home for four years, I wanted to do something to help support my family. Someone suggested that I become a substitute teacher at the local elementary school. After my oldest child began kindergarten and I had been subbing for a year, the principal at the school asked if I had an Associate Degree because they needed a teacher assistant. I then decided to return to James Sprunt and further my education. With the help of financial aid, I began the School-Age Education program.
James Sprunt offered me a chance to better myself and further my education. With the help of great advisors and teachers I will be graduating this spring with my Associate in Applied Science degree in School-Age Education. James Sprunt Community College helped me reach my goal of being able to help support my family.
