Aubrey Gardner
My journey began as an Adult High School student at Gaston College. From that experience, I realized that education was the most important thing in my life. I am not only dedicated to my academics but also to campus life and my community. I am a Senator for the Student Government Association. As Student Ambassador, I assist current and potential students acclimating to college life. I have been involved in several “service” type projects including Habitat for Humanity and Operation Christmas Child while serving as President of the Rotaract Club. I am thankful for the opportunity to give back to my community!
Over the past year, I have held a work study position for the Business and Information Technology Division. One of my highlights was assisting the dean with an accreditation conference that encompassed over 40 colleges within 8 states. I also hold a co-op position with the distance education division and have been assisting with the QEP Initiative by transcribing videos to meet ADA standards.
I recently was awarded the College Study Tour scholarship which allowed me to travel to Spain over the Thanksgiving break. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to share my success story!
