When I started my college career I was excited for what my future as a student held. I was already working two part-time jobs and then I just added the task of going to school full-time. In the fall semester of my first year was when I decided to join the fire department. I was accepted as a full member in September 2013.

Towards the end of the fall semester was when I picked up a third part-time job. My focus was now managing my time and to still give 100% on my school work. I achieved my first semester with a 3.6 GPA and my second semester I earned a 3.8 GPA.

I will admit that throughout my journey it was tough and got the best of me at some points along the way. I did not think that I could do it but I found out quick that I could accomplish more than I could ever have imagined.
