Since I can recall, my parents have always stressed the importance of education. They told me that playing sports and participating in any other extracurricular activity would be a privilege earned by making good grades. I learned early in my education that dedication was key. As I entered my senior year in high school, I realized that going to community college for two years before transferring to a university would be a great opportunity for me. When it came time to make a decision on which community college to attend, it did not take long for me to choose CCC&TI. I had heard nothing but positive things about CCC&TI, and I was offered a spot on the women’s basketball team as well.
In May, I will graduate with an Associate in Arts degree. I plan to begin my journey at Appalachian State University this fall and complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. From there, I intend to complete my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a focus on Hospice Care. Attending CCC&TI is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The instructors and faculty strive to enable each student’s success and maintain a positive learning environment. My educational experience at CCC&TI has prepared me to continue my studies on the university level, and has given me the confidence I need to move forward.
