Dr. Adriane Leché
Halifax Community College (HCC) Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Assessment Dr. Adriane Leché is the recipient of the Staff of the Year Award. Leché embodies a commitment to institutional excellence and student success. She recently engaged HCC’s constituents in the development of the college’s strategic plan for 2013-17, resulting in a renewed focus on access and student success. Leché fosters an environment built on data-driven decision-making that is student-centered. During her tenure at HCC, she has identified efficiencies and innovative processes to improve a variety of areas, including the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan, accreditation efforts and methods for recording student feedback.
Prior to arriving at HCC, Leché served as the director of institutional effectiveness at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va. She has also served in various capacities with Petersburg City Public Schools, Roanoke City Public Schools, Winston-Salem State University, Delaware State University, Christiansburg High School, Saint Paul’s College, Virginia Tech and Radford University. She has taught courses at Saint Paul’s College, Mary Baldwin College, Bluefield State College and Virginia Tech.
Leché earned a doctorate at Virginia Tech, a master’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also earned additional licenses from the Commonwealth of Virginia for elementary, middle and secondary school principal/supervisor and secondary school counselor.
