"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."
This direct quote by Henry Ford has motivated me to keep my eyes on the prize, an Associate in Arts degree at Pamlico Community College (PCC). My name is Frankee Gibbs and my experience at PCC has afforded me an opportunity to gain more than academics. I am gaining security, most importantly, confidence in my abilities.
After being out of school for more than thirty years, and several attempts at a college education, I was low on confidence and began to tell myself that I could not do this. But after attending an orientation, soaking in everything Mr. Gibbs, Vice President of Student Services, and others were providing me, I began to look at the stage an envisioned myself receiving that degree. Now, the vision is becoming a reality for me because of Pamlico Community College. This journey has given me an opportunity to improve my educational skills, become a better role-model for my family, and provide me life skills which will carry me further than I could
have ever imagined.
Thank you, Pamlico Community College, for the foundation to a brighter future!
