My maxim is “knowledge is power.” I believe all experiences throughout life provide knowledge that will be empowering for future events. Always strive to seek out new knowledge, gain new insights, and explore new opportunities. In the summer of 2009, I took the opportunity to attend several seminars offered by the Small Business Center at MCC. I also attained a Notary Public commission through that resource. The college’s atmosphere appealed to me, and I was inspired to enroll in the Office Administration degree program.
I began college full time in the summer of 2010, and it was not long before I was enjoying the collegiate atmosphere. The mix of age groups was heartening, and the caring professionalism of the instructors was motivating. From the beginning, I felt comfortable – welcomed and part of the crowd. I sharpened preexisting abilities, learned many new skills, and maintained a 4.0 grade point average. I have appreciated continuing my education and contributing to the betterment of Montgomery Community College. The knowledge and experiences I have gained at MCC will empower me to press on to a higher degree and greater employment opportunities.
