In 2005, at the age of sixteen, I became husband and a father. To this day, these are still my two greatest accomplishments. With that being said, my early start on adulthood did not leave me much time to think about my education. I had to drop out of high-school in order to work full-time so that I could provide for my young family. After working for eight years in the landscaping business, my wife and I decided that it was time we both pursue our dreams of working in the medical field.
This of course meant we would both have to get accepted into college in order to obtain the education required for this challenging field. After trying to get accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and being denied, I was accepted into Sandhills Community College. Since being accepted into college, I have had the privilege of studying under the nicest and most helpful professors I could have ever hoped for. I currently hold a 4.0 GPA and have been accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the last two years of my undergraduate degree. I cannot begin to thank Sandhills Community College for the opportunity it has given me to pursue my dreams and better my family’s life.
