Joshua Bradley Mesimer

Sampson Community College has named Joshua Bradley Mesimer to receive the 2015 Academic Excellence Award. During his time at SCC, Josh has made the most of every opportunity by working to graduate in May of 2015 with a high school diploma, an Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Science degree, and Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society of 2 year colleges, and is actively involved in the SCC Criminal Justice Club. Josh currently holds a 4.45 GPA with the Sampson Early College High School and has maintained a 4.0 GPA in college courses throughout his enrollment. He has been on the SCC President’s List for 4 consecutive semesters and will be the first SECHS student to graduate with 3 college degrees.

When asked about his experience at SCC, Josh said “Since a young age, I’ve always wanted to go into the field of forensics. My time at SCC as part of the Early College program has accelerated the pursuit of my goals and more than exceeded my expectations. I’ve had a blast on this amazing journey and I can’t wait to see what the near future holds.” Upon graduation, Joshua will attend NC State University where he will major in Biological Life Sciences. His ultimate goal is to work at the State Bureau of Investigation Forensic Lab. The College will formally recognize his exceptional accomplishments at the 2015 SCC Graduation in May.
