Being diagnosed with asthma and anxiety disorder cut short the military career of Marian Corp Veteran Joshua G. West. Getting medically discharged in 2014, West decided to move back home and spend time with family and friends he had not seen in years due to deployments to Iraq and Afganistan. Working two jobs, one as an auto mechanic and as a millwright West decided he wanted to do better for himself and his wife and enrolled at Nash Community College.
NCC was not the closest college to West's home, but he had heard great things about NCC IST Program. The instructors were knowledgeable, respectful and always willing to help West through his educational journey. West currently serves the NCC Metalworkers Club as secretary, and the inaugural Skills ISA Chapter as Treasurer and Parliamentarian while managing a cattle and crop with his father. West is excited to see where the skills he has learned at NCC will take him.
