Kaitlyn M. Raitano
After graduating from Chapel Hill High School in 2010, I took a semester off and worked at a local restaurant. While working, I volunteered with the NC Special Olympics and helped students with Intellectual Disabilities in the classroom. During Summer 2010, I completed a 32-hour internship at Dr. Barrett Davis' Dental Office in Morehead City. I immediately fell in love with this job and set a goal to attend UNC-CH to prepare.
In Spring 2011, I enrolled at Alamance Community College and after one semester was accepted to CSTEP, Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program. While working 20-30 hours a week, I have successfully remained on the Dean's List, have received many scholarships for academic achievements and was nominated for the National Spanish Honor Society. In Fall 2012, I confirmed my career plan by completing another 32-hour internship at Dr. Davis' office. My ultimate life goal is to graduate from UNC-CH with my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Attending Alamance Community College has made my life goal dreams come true. I have been blessed with many wonderful opportunities that I never thought I would be able to achieve.
