Two years ago, I made a decision that would change my life for the best.  I decided to go to Stanly Community College (SCC) to obtain my associate degree in Criminal Justice.  I am now in my last semester at SCC, and I have had a great experience thus far in my college career.  I have come a long way since my first semester two years ago.  I currently serve as the President of the Criminal Justice Club, an Ambassador for SCC, and I participate with work-study; all while balancing a course load of classes.  My experience at SCC has made me a better person regarding leadership and communication skills.  This award shows how hard work and determination can be rewarded.  I would not be receiving this award or be able to achieve my accomplishments and goals if it were not for my instructors as well as the faculty and staff at SCC.  I am looking forward to what the future holds for me.  Thank you to Stanly Community College for being the stepping stone that started my path to success.
