Korey Marie Butler

I am a thirty-year-old, married, mother of two who is actively engaged within the community.

Thus, while researching options of where to attend college, I knew I needed a flexible and transitional environment. Therefore, attending Wake Technical Community College was my only option.

Wake  Tech  offers  me  the  diversity,  convenience,  and  resources  I  desperately  need  to accommodate my busy lifestyle. The affordable, versatile, and smaller class sizes made it possible for me to successfully launch my college career.

While attending Wake Tech, I have two goals: make exceptional grades and actively engage within student leadership. After much dedication and utilization of resources, I accomplished both goals. I proudly earned a 3.83 GPA, and I participate in the following:

  • 2014-15 Student Ambassador
  • Publicity Secretary for Phi Theta Kappa
  • National Society of Leadership and Success
  • Disciplinary Review Grievance Committee
  • Big Buddy Volunteer, Comfort Zone Camp ( for adolescent bereavement)

After graduation, I intend to transfer to UNC-CH and receive a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication. With the tools and confidence obtained while attending Wake Tech, I know I will continue on my path of academic and professional excellence. Wake Tech has shown me that it is possible!
