When I graduated from Ayden-Grifton High School, I was excited to be college bound but apprehensive about the transition. After a very rewarding senior year as President of the Senior Class, Governor at Tar Heel Boy's State, and more, I had no idea what to expect at college. I received multiple scholarships and opportunities from several universities; however, I had to make the college decision that would be best for me and my family. I couldn't risk going into debt when I could be at a financial equilibrium by attending a community college. Pitt Community College was the answer!
I found a place at PCC to continue developing my leadership skills and make a difference in my community. As President of the SGA, serving as a Student Ambassador, and advocating for the successful passage of a $19.9 million-dollar bond referendum to build much needed space at the most crowded community college in the System, my experiences so far have been priceless. Thanks to my time at PCC and the influence of an amazing faculty and staff - my life will never be the same again. Pitt Community was not my only choice, but it was the best choice for me!
