I had never really considered a community college before. I’ve always been interested in the big well-known schools, such as Chapel Hill and NC State. But after getting accepted to Union County Early College in the fall of 2007 and attending South Piedmont Community College, I began to realize that what I originally considered to be “not for me” would be the best choice I ever made.

The class sizes are no larger than twenty-five students in the classes I have had so far. The instructors all know me by name and actually interact with me. I definitely embrace that personal attention from my instructors; it was how I learned best. So far, I have taken fifty-eight credit hours and will graduate in May with my Associate in Science degree and four extra credit hours. I’ve maintained a GPA of roughly 3.8-3.9 throughout every semester I’ve been attending the college.

Thanks to SPCC, I now know that I perform my best in smaller class environments and desire to go to a smaller school to further my degree. I will be transferring to Wingate University in the fall to begin my career in pharmaceuticals.
