Lilia Martinez

In elementary school and middle school, I was an A and B student.  At the age of 17, my senior year of high school, my life took a 360 degree turn because of making a wrong decision.  I graduated from high school with a very disappointing GPA and begin working a full time job, which I did not like.  I often drove by Nash Community College (NCC) and wondered what it would be like to go to college. One morning I woke up and applied online to NCC.  Days later, I had my schedule in my hand and thought of reasons to quit, but decided to give it a shot!

I am a first generation college student enrolled in the Web Technologies Program.  NCC welcomed me, making me feel important and that they care about my educational goals in life.  My hopes dreams are being fulfilled at NCC.  My GPA is 3.9 and I have a strong commitment and drive to continue my education. The College has supported me every step of the way and I don't regret choosing NCC.
