Fresh out of high school, I joined the United States Coast Guard. Upon completion of my enlistment, I began to search for my next adventure. I knew I wanted to do something in the medical field but I was unsure exactly what that was. My husband received orders from the United States Marine Corps to Camp Lejeune, NC which led me to begin researching programs at Carteret Community College. I never imagined that this would be the beginning of my next adventure.

Respiratory Therapy quickly became my career of choice and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Through this program, I have discovered a drive in me that I did not know I possessed. I realized that I have the potential to become a better person and really make a difference in other people’s lives CCC has given me the confidence that I have been lacking and the determination to further my education. I cannot be more appreciative of not only the knowledge and training, but the leadership qualities I have acquired during this program.
