In October 2009 I lost my job due to the company moving overseas, and they gave their employees the opportunity to go back to school.  The thought of going back to school being 40 years old was very scary, but I realized it was something that I always wanted to do.  Therefore January 2010 I enrolled at Wilson Community College. Initially, it was very hard, because I had been out of school for several years.  I received my GED from Wilson Community College in 1999, so learning all over again was very challenging for me.  All I could to do to get through was to ask the Lord to help and guide me on this journey, and he did just that.

The instructors at the college were nice and encouraging to me.  I am looking forward to the day I graduate.  I never thought going back to school would change my life the way it has. I am on the honor society, Deans List, and I was a Marshall for the May 2010 graduation.  My family has been right there to push me on this journey.  I think being successful is a great privilege for me because my life has not been easy, but I truly thank God and Wilson Community College for the opportunity of being successful on this journey.
