In 2010, I graduated from Central Carolina Community College with an Associate Degree in Lasers and Photonics.  I had to look for a job outside the state due to economy.  Half a year after graduating, I found a good job in Delaware.  I packed all my things and moved to an unknown place with no friends or family.  After working for a year and a half and setting up a new life, the company began laying people off due to a decrease in sales.  With no income, I moved back to NC into my parent’s house.  This unfortunate turn of events was a blessing in disguise.

I started looking into various college programs and happened upon Johnston Community College Radiography.  After a year of completing prerequisites, I was accepted into the program.  It has been the best decision of my life.  School has always been a challenge for me due to a disorder I have called Tourette’s syndrome, but the instructors at JCC have given much of their personal time and energy to help me, as well as others, succeed.  I believe I have found my true calling in life, while also gaining the joyful opportunity of helping others.
