Philomena De Piante's education started with two goals. To receive her Associates in Arts degree then transfer to a four-year university. She soon realized that Central Piedmont Community College had more to offer than just an excellent education. For Philomena CPCC provided an environment of learning, leadership, and service. Philomena credits the mentors at CPCC for the guidance and encouragement to become a leader in her community including excelling in her classes.
Being a member of the Student Government Association, Philomena has discovered the courage to become involved and to let her voice be heard. Philomena's experience at Central Piedmont Community College has inspired her to improve her community and give back. She feels that her experiences at CPCC have armed her with the knowledge and ability to achieve her next set of goals.
