My greatest achievements are becoming a wife, dedicated mother of three young boys, and a college student. In 2007, I graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with Honors, was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, and received my AAS in Culinary Arts. The economic downfall prevented me from fulfilling my dreams of opening a restaurant. After the birth of my third son in 2008, I lost my job at Bank of America which caused my husband and me to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. After paying half of my husband’s check each week to bankruptcy, this left us $258 to live on. My father encouraged me to pursue Radiography. I chose Randolph Community College for its wonderful teachers, small classes, and accommodating schedule.
During my two years at RCC, I have obtained vast knowledge from the best instructors who have pushed me to do my very best. With family and school responsibilities, there seems to be no time for anything else. However, I volunteer at my church each month to cook free meals for the community. I feel it is important for my children to learn the importance of giving back to the community, just as I hope to do through a career in Radiography.
