Attending Forsyth Technical Community College was a lifesaver. In 2008, I hit an eighteen wheeler head on with my motorcycle that left me in a very dark place for years. One day I saw an ad for Forsyth Tech online. Forsyth Tech offered a Broadcasting and Production Technology program that appealed to me. I enrolled for the Fall 2011 Semester, and I haven't looked back. Not only did Forsyth Tech give me the opportunity to turn my life around, it also allowed me to meet a lot of great people and come out of that dark place.
At Forsyth Tech, my hard work has been recognized. I am now a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and selected to compete in the N.C. Skills USA competition in 2012 for Audio/Radio Production. We won first place and won the Gold Medal at the Skills USA 2012 National Competition. Also for winning, I received a full scholarship to the Academy for Media Production in Gettysburg, PA. I would have never been able to do any of this without Forsyth Tech. I have a diploma in Radio Production, an A.A.S. in Broadcasting Technology and am now earning my Associate in Arts.
