My time spent as a student at Central Piedmont Community College has proven to be one of my greatest adventures. Before I started attending CPCC I was a student fresh out of high school in Toronto, living on my own, and working part-time. Despite the difficulties of living independently I knew that I wanted to continue my educational path. I applied to several universities, yet I was not sure how I was going to pay for school. After a miraculous phone call, I soon found myself in a car with my father, destined for a twenty hour trip to North Carolina with a CPCC sponsorship in my hands.
As an international student from Canada, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with an array of wonderful people. As a part of my journey I joined the Student Government Association and my life has never been the same. I have learned about the empowerment of education and how it will guide me and better me as an individual. The decision to leave my home in Canada in order to attend CPCC was one of the most defining moments in my life and I am very grateful that I took that step of faith.
