National Apprenticeship Week 2026
National Apprenticeship Week

The inaugural Spring National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) will take place April 26–May 2, 2026, bringing together employers, apprentices, educators, workforce partners, and community organizations across the country to celebrate the impact of Registered Apprenticeship. Coordinated by the U.S. Department of Labor, NAW highlights how Registered Apprenticeship Programs strengthen the economy by building a highly skilled workforce and creating clear pathways to in-demand careers.
The 2026 theme, “America at Work: Making America Skilled Again through Registered Apprenticeship,” reflects the critical role Registered Apprenticeships play in preparing workers for the jobs of today and tomorrow. As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary and continues efforts to grow and modernize key industries, Registered Apprenticeship remains a proven strategy for connecting career seekers with high-quality training and employment opportunities.
Throughout the week, daily themes will spotlight the many ways Registered Apprenticeship supports economic growth, innovation, education alignment, youth career pathways, and emerging fields:
- Monday, April 27: Registered Apprenticeships Building America at 250
- Tuesday, April 28: Registered Apprenticeship Drives Growth and Innovation Across Critical Industries
- Wednesday, April 29: Expanding AI in Registered Apprenticeship
- Thursday, April 30: Realigning Education and Workforce Systems Around Registered Apprenticeship
- Friday, May 1: Youth Pathways to Registered Apprenticeship
North Carolina employers, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners are encouraged to take part in National Apprenticeship Week 2026 by hosting events, issuing proclamations, and sharing success stories that highlight the impact of Registered Apprenticeship across the state. Whether it’s an open house, apprenticeship signing day, panel discussion, or workplace tour, your participation helps showcase how Registered Apprenticeship builds talent pipelines and strengthens North Carolina’s workforce.
Join ApprenticeshipNC in celebrating NAW and help spotlight the power of Registered Apprenticeship. Submit your events or proclamations, engage your local partners, and be part of the national effort to expand opportunities and grow the next generation of skilled workers in North Carolina.
