What is Youth Apprenticeship?

Youth Apprenticeship is a Registered Apprenticeship because you can start apprenticeships as early as sixteen. These structured training programs combine on-the-job learning with classroom instruction to prepare students for high-demand careers.

 

Students who are enrolled in a Registered Youth Apprenticeship before high school graduation and enter a Registered Apprenticeship within 120 days of graduation qualify for a North Carolina Community College tuition waiver.

 

Youth Apprenticeships are available in 1,200+ occupations.

Registered Apprenticeships Can Start at Age 16

There are only 10 hazardous occupations that anyone under 18 cannot do if they are in a Registered Apprenticeship program.
