About

Anthony Pile is 44 years old and had been married for 26 years. He has two children one of which is currently a junior at UNC Chapel Hill and the other a senior at Croatan High School in Carteret County. In the past Anthony was a stand-up comedian for 7 years in the Midwest. In his mid-twenties Anthony started developing a mental health issue which eventually took him off the stage and landed him on disability. After spending almost a decade on disability Anthony started to show real progress at which time he decided to begin his journey off of disability and he enrolled in Carteret Community College. Since enrolling Anthony was awarded TRiO’s Outstanding Freshman of the Year Award, has been inducted in PTK Honors Society, elected president of CCC’s SGA and was the Eastern Regional finalist for Robert W. Scott leadership award. He was later elected president of the N4CSGA and was sworn in as a member of the SBCC and he currently works as a Peer Academic Leader in TRiO. He will be attending UNC Chapel Hill next fall via the C-STEP program and plans on attending medical school.
