About

Ann Whitford is a native of eastern North Carolina, raised on a family farm in Martin County. She attended Loiusburg Junior College and graduated from Meredith College in 1973 earning a Batchelor of Arts degree with a double major in Sociology and Education. In 1976, she earned a Master in Education from UNC Chapel Hill. She taught in public schools of Wake and Carteret County for many years and served as an adjunct faculty member at Carteret Community College. After leaving teaching, Whitford started and operated a construction company that she formed in 1983 and continues to operate. She lives in Morehead City with her husband, Neil.
