DEFINITION:
The Apprenticeship Specialist will lead the strategic growth and day-to-day management of CFCC’s Apprenticeship program, with a strong focus on forward-thinking expansion and workforce alignment. This role involves cultivating and sustaining meaningful partnerships with employers and training providers to broaden opportunities for students. The Specialist will provide proactive mentorship and support to apprentices, ensure program compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and play a key role in expanding outreach, recruitment, and training initiatives. With an eye toward long-term success and scalability, the position will support student transitions from Pre-Apprenticeship to full Apprenticeship, promote apprenticeships as high-impact career pathways, and drive innovation through data analysis, program development, and continuous improvement. Close collaboration with CFCC faculty, employers and training providers, as well as active engagement with state and national apprenticeship networks, will be essential to identifying new opportunities and strengthening CFCC’s role as a leader in apprenticeship education.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, training providers, and educational institutions. Provide guidance to employers and apprentices on the expectations and requirements of the program.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by employers or apprentices and mediate resolutions when necessary.
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions for apprentices and employers.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to apprentices, ensuring they are progressing through their program effectively. Track apprentices’ skills development and ensure they meet performance milestones.
- Coordinating and overseeing Apprenticeship programs and activities, including outreach, site visits, recruitment, industry partnerships, and follow-up to ensure strong community relationships, and successful completion of Apprenticeship Program.
- Collaboration with other staff and faculty to ensure student engagement from Pre-Apprentice to Apprenticeship statuses through successful employer partnerships for pipeline opportunities of CFCC students.
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local apprenticeship laws and regulations.
- Ensure programs are compliant the standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor or relevant regulatory bodies.
- Maintain up-to-date apprenticeship documentation and reports for audits.
- Prepare regular reports on apprenticeship program progress, outcomes, and effectiveness.
Analyze apprenticeship data to identify trends and areas for program improvement. - Guide apprentices in career planning and opportunities for advancement within the organization or industry.
- Promote apprenticeships as viable career pathways and foster growth opportunities for participants.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive outreach and recruitment plan for students and alumni, including: support related events and activities, career fairs, class visits, and open houses.
- Remain up to date and current with CFCC’s academic programs, networking among the Apprenticeship community within the state and nationally, attend and remain active in Advisory Boards and employer relationships.
- Identify, implement, monitor, and assess trends in program data tracking for industries and programs, as well as new opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Basic operations, services and activities of career services and job placement.
- Recent developments, current literature and sources of information related to career decision making.
- Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and safety regulations.
- College policies and procedures regarding admission standards and educational program requirements.
- Transfer requirements and procedures of regional four-year educational institutions.
- Principles and procedures of educational and career advising.
- Business letter writing and basic report preparation.
- Principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Ability To:
- Present to employers, student and faculty groups.
- Actively engage in team building and collaboration within the Career Services Department and throughout the college.
- Advise students regarding program selection and course work needed.
- Establish a rapport with employers and students and create an atmosphere conducive to counseling and long- term employer relationships.
- Interpret and apply the policies and procedures of the college.
- Refer students to appropriate college staff for additional counseling, program advising, testing and related matters.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
