Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
One (1) year experience teaching or leading professional development.
Valid NC Drivers’ License.
Quality Matters Peer Reviewer Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Experience in Moodle and other open-source learning platforms and technologies.
Teaching experience.
Experience with Colleague.
Experience within the North Carolina Community College System.
Position Description
The CTL and CCP Support Specialist provides direct support to the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning and the Director of the Center for Teaching and eLearning to provide instructional support to faculty and staff related to distance learning and professional development. This position supports faculty and staff with our learning management system, digital content and instructional technology tools. The CTL and CCP Support Specialist will also provide support and communication to faculty instructing our Career and College Promise students.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides direct technical support to faculty and staff using the college’s learning management system (Moodle) and other instructional technologies
- Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning and the Director of the CTL and eLearning to implement and sustain distance learning initiatives
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of digital course content, tools, and integrations to ensure high functionality and ease of use
- Offers pedagogically sound guidance to faculty on integrating instructional technology into course design, delivery, and assessment
- Supports and facilitates training sessions or workshops related to eLearning tools and effective teaching strategies
- Responds promptly and professionally to support requests through multiple channels (email, phone, ticketing system, videoconference, or in person)
- Provides onboarding and orientation for new Career & College Promise (CCP) faculty at high school campuses, updates digital orientation materials each semester, and delivers ongoing professional development in collaboration with the CTL
- Addresses technology concerns at high school sites, supports Moodle access and Watermark reporting for CCP students and faculty, and contributes to data collection, reporting, and strategic initiatives including QEP efforts and grant proposals for CCP program enhancement
- Stays informed of emerging trends in instructional technology and pedagogy and proactively suggests enhancements to digital learning resources
- Maintains department web pages through Craven Compass and Panther Portal
- Supports faculty and staff with digital accessibility and our college ADA plan
- Works collaboratively with other support services personnel to continuously improve workflow and communication
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
