RE: 2022-23 Tuition and Registration Fee Rates

DATE: June 30, 2022

G.S. 115D-5 states that “[t]he State Board shall have authority with respect to individual institutions… to establish and regulate student tuition and fees within policies for tuition and fees established by the General Assembly.”

The General Assembly did not include a tuition or registration fee increase in the Conference budget adjustments (H103) released on June 28th. Therefore, curriculum tuition charged to students for the 2022-23 academic year remain at current levels:

  • Residents: The per credit hour charge shall remain $76; up to a maximum per semester of $1,216, based upon 16 credit hours of instruction.
  • Non-Residents: The per credit hour charge shall remain $268; up to a maximum per semester of $4,288, based upon 16 credit hours of instruction.

Likewise, continuing education registration fees will remain at current levels and continue to be based on the course length, consistent with the following schedule:

Course Length

Registration Fee

0-24 Hours

$70

25-50 Hours

$125

50+ Hours

$180
