The North Carolina Community College System desires to be at the forefront of integrating immersive learning technologies to revolutionize how we advise and prepare our students for the dynamic North Carolina Workforce. Embracing virtual reality (VR) and other immersive tools, we strive to build a robust pipeline of skilled workers ready to meet the demands of our evolving job market.

Our emphasis on Workforce development through community colleges is more than educational; it’s a commitment to economic growth and personal empowerment. We are particularly focused on reaching out to high school students and adult learners, especially in rural areas and among Special Populations, who may not have access to traditional career exploration resources.

Through the power of VR, we’re opening doors to worlds of opportunity—bringing to life careers in healthcare, technology, construction, and more. These are careers that many learners might never have considered possible. With immersive learning, students can virtually step into a day on the job, gaining insights and experience that go beyond the classroom walls.

Supported by Perkins funding, which recognizes the value of innovative educational approaches, this year’s Immersive Learning Conference will showcase how these technologies can be leveraged to transform career counseling and create exciting, relevant learning experiences.

Join us as we explore the future of career education, where community colleges are the bridge between learners and the next generation of North Carolina’s workforce. Together, we will equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and vision they need to thrive in their chosen careers and contribute to the state’s economic vitality.

Your participation in the Immersive Learning Conference is more than just professional development—it’s a step towards shaping the future of education and workforce readiness in North Carolina. We look forward to welcoming you to this groundbreaking event.
